The Building Science Academy assists community colleges and universities in implementing energy efficiency programs. Our vast hands-on experience in building science coupled with the safety programs, information technology and math programs of Community Colleges and Universities creates a win-win partnership. Programs also designed to meet the needs of Michigan Works and No Worker Left Behind.
We can accommodate the needs of many non-profits specializing in renewable energy, recycling, and the environment by conducting specialized training or expanding their existing training programs. We also partner with government agencies and non-profits who are seeking federal grants in energy efficiency.
We are a licensed Michigan Proprietary School with the State of Michigan. Building Science Academy is committed to providing every individual with the skills to enter the energy efficiency and green jobs work force. This includes entry level workers with no experience in construction or energy auditing through experienced building contractors and energy auditor/raters. We are committed to not just preparing our students for certification but with the knowledge and hands-on experience and capabilities to put their certification to WORK!
With BSA students have access to over 229 hours of building science curriculum preparing them for careers in the energy efficiency and the new green job economy. BSA is an affiliate training organization of the Building Performance Institute (BPI) to provide Building Analyst and Envelope Professional training courses for those individuals who want to pursue a career related to utility programs, weatherization programs or with contractors as energy auditors. In addition we offer Air Sealing and Insulation and Contractor Installation training courses which are beneficial to the individual seeking a career in air sealing, installing insulation or with contractors performing services for the retro-fit market. We also offer courses to prepare the new worker entering this market with Home Performance Sales and Marketing and Advanced Equipment training.
Our principals and instructors combined have audited over a 1000 homes and have extensive experience in energy auditing, retrofit contracting, HVAC, audit software, and training. We prepare our students for more than a certification; we prepare them for a FUTURE.
