Training for Advanced Equipment

This training will teach the student combination of blower door testing, infrared camera testing and duct leakage testing. Blower Door principles, zone pressure testing as well as computer assisted Blower Door procedures. Learn the basics of using a Blower Door to air seal a home. Learn the basics of using the infrared camera to find defects in a home. Using a blower door and thermal camera in conjunction to evaluate the building envelope. Writing a work scope from the infrared thermal images. Learn the software reporting the students will learn the duct leakage basics, duct leakage equipment operation, writing an effective work scope for repairs. Duct work leakage repair including products and procedures, also learn how to use computer software with the duct leakage equipment.
Topics Covered:
- Blower door testing - This training will teach the student Blower Door principles, zone pressure testing as well as computer assisted Blower Door procedures and operations. The students will also learn the basics of using a Blower Door to air seal a home. 1.75 continuing education credits
- Infrared thermal imaging - The students will learn the basics of using the infrared camera to find defects in a home. This will include using a blower door and thermal camera together and using the results to evaluate the building envelope. Writing a work scope from the infrared thermal images and training in software reporting. 3.5 continuing education credits
- Combustion Safety testing - The students will learn the procedures of combustion safety testing as well as the importance of testing. They will learn the procedures for Combustion Appliance Zone (CAZ) depressurization testing, combustion appliance testing, gas leak testing, and computer assisted combustion safety testing. 1.75 continuing education credits
- Duct Leak - The students will learn the duct leakage basics, duct leakage equipment operation, the use of computer software with duct leakage equipment and writing an effective work scope for repairs. Duct work leakage repair will include the review of products and procedures used in the repair and their applications. 7 continuing education credits
- NEAT software - The students will learn the procedures for entering the audit information into the NEAT software with an emphasis on data collection procedures and accurate interpretation of results. 3.50 continuing education credits

Student will receive a certificate of completion for each advanced equipment training course. If student takes all of the advanced equipment training they will conduct field energy audit utilizing neat software and prepare work scope as final project.
