Training for Envelope Professional

This training, which includes both classroom sessions and field experience, will help you prepare for the Building Performance Institute’s (BPI) written and field exams for the Envelope Professional certification. Training will include review of some Building Analyst topics, but is not a Building Analyst preparatory course.

Building Science Academy does not require that the Building Analyst training or certificate be a prerequisite for the Envelope Professional, but we strongly encourage that you have taken the Building Analyst training and certification tests prior to taking the training for this certification.

Students will learn more about a house as a system. This class gets into much more detail on Thermal Boundaries and Pressure Diagnostics.

  • Field training

Training Period: 5 days total with 1 day of field training.
Examinations: 2 hours for written exam and 2 hours for field test (optional)

Training Cost: $1500 for training course with certificate upon completion.

Examination Costs: Must pass BPI on-line written exam (50 questions) with 70% for passing score to pass written examination and to qualify for taking field examination.

* Written exam: $350/student
* Field exam: $350/student

Passing of written and field results allows student to obtain BPI certification.

** Please note current BPI certified professionals this course counts for 8.75 continuing education credits**

Total Cost: $2200/student if student elects to take training course, written and field exams.
BSA Certificate of completion and BPI national certification upon passing written and field exams.
